we had people one year road hunt out of one of our fields one night ... killed a beautiful 14 point buck 3 days before season began, i had been watching that deer for 3 years hoping every year to get him and had worked him to no end ... thats why i hate poachers so much, because more than anything they ruin it for those of us that enjoy it .. these assholes took the horns and left the carcass rotting in my field


we got em back though, we had heard the gunshot cuz we had happened to be just getting back home, my dad and i, so we jumped on the quads with our rifles and a 50 million cp light ... put two nice holes in their back tires, cops found the truck ditched 1/4 mile down the road the next day in the woods ... arrested the fuckers took everything they had to their name away, house, trucks, boat, guns, atv's...guys were left pennyless and homeless all for some antlers

 

remember that miserable fawk of a coworker I told you about.. (not the gay one) He goes:

"Well... it's not the poachers fault... he's just a guy with a gun.... "

oh and also, you can be arrested for poaching for shooting a decoy in the woods just as strong as you can if it was a real animal ... thats how serious poaching is ...

our DNR sets up decoys in known poaching areas to capture these guys, guys see the decoy from the road pull up and as they shoot the conservation cop steps out and arrests them for poaching

so its not someone that kills an animal to make a profit. i mean, if i shoot a giant hog within the correct season and sold the meat, itd be fine?

 

correct, you can make profit from hunting ... lots of people do .. hell we take the hides from our deer and sell them to a guy who tans them ... not worth alot but we dont like parts going to waste if we have a use


i could rant all day about poachers ... now you got me all stirred up ... there is nothing i feel more strongly about than hunting and proper conservation of wildlife. you really really really dont want to be a poacher and have me come upon you

 

I remember watching this special on the Discovery channel, some dope shot at a dummy animal and they arrested his ass :rofl:

Best part was, when he denied trying to shoot the animal :rofl:

They got him on camera stopping his truck in the middle of the road, going to the back to get his gun, he shoots, a couple seconds later on his way back to put his gun away, the cops come and he denies it :rofl:

In fact, I think he lived in MI :rofl:

 

totally believable ... i know the officers that do the stings up home and yup totally believable, 90% of them will flat out deny that they ever shot at the animal. the stories some of these guys give would have you laughing for hours and hours

you probably did see it in MI, its common practice
