It doesn't get to me at all .... I block him out the majority of the time. I just don't get the point of constantly going on about being misrable.. when the energy can be used to change it.

 

If you want to piss him off go over to him and say something like "Hey thanks for bringing that to my attention. I resent the e-mail and the client sent a nice reply saying she probably just missed it the first time. " It will really irritate him that it didn't get to you. Bonus points for doing it within earshot of the boss.
