Control Panel; System; Advanced; Performance - Settings; Advanced; Virtual Memory change the value to 3072.

What processor do you have?

EDIT: I think you guys already covered this above h:.

Yeah but I have 2 partitions...should I set both to 3072? I did the system managed file and it made both 4118. I have a Pentium 4 3.2GHz.

Hmm, interesting.

I'm not sure on the partition thing. I usually just set it to 1.5x your RAM, but you can do higher.

How many running processes do you typically have?

Right now I have 58 because of all the media center and sony background apps

Yea P4's are old and busted now. Need at least a Pentium D or Athlon X2.

Dual core P4. a 1.8ghz dual core is faster than a 3ghz regular p4 and cheaper too
