It would be easier and cause you far less problems to get a whole rebuild kit. The cost is about $20 from your favorite BORG, and it will be quiter and more efficient than what you have now.

Didn't fix it, but lead me to the fix. The arm that connects to the chain wasn't lifting the flapper high enough. I took it out, bent it and replaced. It's working fine nowh:

Those diesel fumes must have made it hard for you to lift the cover off and figure it out, huh?

I use to rent, when something broke I called someone to fix ith: Before that I still called someone to fix it. Now I own and am broke, so ...I post on HAN and ask someone else to tell me how to fix it
