Gimp is very limited and frusterating compared to running photoshop which is why very few people use it.

I'd say that's true to someone who's either a) a diehard photoshop fan even if they don't use it much or b) someone that always uses or only ever got the chance to use nothing but photoshop.

I used to use photoshop in HS and did lots of scanning and image editing... got out of it for a couple years after that and then found The GIMP. I haven't run photoshop since.

Sure it doesn't have everything that photoshop does, and it's not for everyone. But it sure has a hell of a lot more options than most people will ever use.

i use lightroom for the majority of my post processing but i'll fire up cs2 if lightroom cant adjust it, that said, i havent used cs2 in a few months

so ive been testing out lightroom and man very impressed of what it can do and how fast. cs2 may have to take a back seat for a while

cs2 aint that bad its no 7.0 but its not as bad as people make it seem.

I just started running GIMP 2 but as I'm not used to photo editing software with so many options, I'm struggling a little bit. I don't really get this whole layer thing... :hs:

Werd, it's completely free and has a lot of features from what I can see. I said screw trying to find a copy of PS that wasn't actually chock full of viruses. h:

I just got a copy from download.com
