My gf uses the pill and it actually helps regulate her mood swings and period.

No babies yet, but I also use a hat too, just in case.

My wife was on "The Pill" for quite a few years, way back when. There were no ill effects for her, and it kept her period short and regular. She took the pill for 21 days and the placebo for 7 days in each cycle, taking the placebo keeps you on the schedule of taking the pill everyday, and it should be made into a routine like with any other medication. It took a couple of months after she stopped taking the pill before she got pregnant.

Yay birth control!!
I like it. No problems. Makes the whole world a happier place
Made my boobs a little bigger
and I didn't get fatter
makes periods shorter
and it makes it easier to skip one if you're on the pill

all the girls who have the ring I know like it

the only one I know that made people fat was getting the shot, my friend did it and she gained weight but she didnt have her period for like 2 years

and doctors check for the symptoms of mood swings, weight gain, etc to make sure you're on the right one

Edit: But to answer your question, if she's ok with it, and is open about how it affects her body with her doctor, then go for it.
Yea we're thinking things through and see which one is the safest for her. We're gonna do some hw too before we go to the doc.

If she is for it, and she is safe on the pills then I say go for it.
Yea I figured that much. After she's using it for a bit it should mellow out I guess.

I'm fairly versed on contraception, shoot h:.

All docs will give you different opinions, especially on birth control.

I don't recommend the patch.

If you girlfriend is forgetful, she could try the nuvaring.

If she can remember to take it everyday at the same time, go with a minipill, I would recommend Ortho Tricyclin Lo.

If she's open to an IUD, look into that.

Hmmm, interesting....Thanks. I'll be looking into those.

Yea, that's our main concern. Her dad just passed away from cancer so I know it probably runs in her family and she mentioned that if she gets a blood clot it can cause ovarian cancer so we're taking that into consideration. Last thing I want is for something bad to happen to her. :happysad:

I use Trinessa which is generic for Ortho Tri Cyclean

I get it free with my insurance so major plus there.

My friend's mom had breast cancer so she was also concerned with the pill increasing her chance of getting cancer as well so my friend switched to the nuva ring which she enjoys.

I did a lot of research into what to take and then it just made my head hurt. I would go to the doctor with your concerns about taking birth control and they are really good about it. They talked to me over a half hour about when I asked so they are quite knowledgeable on all the different methods. I am sure you'll find out more than you want to
