The Celestine Prophecy is an interesting book to say the least... Try to get your hands on the flick What the Bleep Do We Know.... Dabbles in the connection between Quantum Physics and the actual capabilities of the human mind. (The energy of thought and power of mind over matter type of crap) Kinda hokey in production.. but the concepts behind it are what make it.
Journeying is kinda just like putting yourself in a trance... similar if you've ever tried to hypnotize yourself. Except.. I've experienced a feeling of being yanked up really fast, ... as if someone was dragging me up by the back of my tshirt. (not to mention the stuff expereinced during the actual "journey")

Weird. But cool. Deffinatly opens up your mind more.

What about transcendental meditation and journeying?

I suppose if I told you that there have been many times where I've meditated and I could see what everyone within a certain radius of me would be crazy yes?

I tried to train myself to Lucid a few years ago. Its tough and it takes dedication if you cant do it naturally.
I know this will sounds wierd but i think it could work... although kinda risky

Drink water before going to bed and dont piss. During the night in your dream you will have to feeling that you need pee (you know that time where you though you were pissing in your dream but ended up wetting the bed) at that time you should be able to wake up just enough to gain control of your dream. Needs to be tried a couple of time in order for you not to wake up too much and actually go to the toilet or worst even...piss your bed

I also use the video tape thing where if nsomething does not go like i want in my dream i pause it, rewind and play it over with the changes
