anyone know anything about devices that convert PC LCDs to HD displays?
i came across this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815100147
KWORLD TV1680R VGA Interface Video Device

i can't find detailed reviews and i'm iffy on kworld..
i'm trying to get GT4 to look better (but don't have an HDTV yet), so i considered a device like above.
the game just looks sooo shitty on composite.. :hs:
it's hard to play a racing simulator at this poor quality after having played "HD" on the PC for over a decade.

update: the leadtek pvr3000 doesn't do anything HD.. it takes component in, but displays at 480i max.
i've come to learn that the key to getting a PC monitor to work as an HDTV is through something like a component to VGA transcoder. problem is these things have trouble doing 480i, unless you're ready to pay big bucks, as far as i can tell.
thanks for nothing, HAN. :fawk:

my monitors have DVI and VGA inputs only, but i'm not aware of component to DVI (HDMI minus audio, right?) though...

if you can find a transcoder that happens to support 480i (they seem to go for around $60 for the ones that don't), and then another $20 for component cables, and then suddenly you can play your console at HD resolutions on your PC monitor for more or less $100 -- instead of shelling out several hundred to a thousand plus for an HDTV -- how is that not worth the cost and effort?
