Default Anybody Have A Vizio?

How's the quality on the Vizio plasma tv's? I'm normally not a plasma fan, but the prices are pretty darn good. I've never seen one in person though, and don't know how the quality is. Anybody got one?

Did you see that 50" plasma at Best Buy too? I believe it's like $1199! I'm so tempted to get one.

And yes I know of maintenance involved with plasma tv's but for that price, who cares. I move electronics every few years anyway.

I've always been partial to the Sony Grand Wega LCD projection tv's...but the one I want is still 2 grand. I've always like the picture on the projections better than plasma, but for that big of a price difference...I don't know.

Is 720 vs 1080 a big difference? I'd been wanting a 1080p so I at least have the current technology...but the prices for the models I want are still pretty high.

Picture quality compared to other plasma/lcd? Overall quality? I don't want to spend that much on a TV and have it be a hunk of crap.

720p is the broadcast standard for HD. This can change when bandwidth issues are resolved.

1080p is the standard for the PS3, 360, HDDVD, and BluRay. There's a significant difference when comparing the 2.

oh, also ... check CostCo and Wal-Mart. Visio has been carried there for quite some time.

At my local Wal-Mart, there's a Vizio 50in, 1080p, plasma for $976.

they're similar, broadcast tv looks better on her plasma than it does on my lcd, though 1080i hdtv looks great on mine. her blacks are better, my colors look sorta washed out compared to her's. build quality is decent, we have viewsonic and toshiba lcds as well and vizio seems like it'll hold up. our uses are different though, i bought mine to use with my computer and game systems, she bought hers to use to watch tv and movies. costco and sam's club carry vizio, if you have the time, just buy the one one you like and use it and if you're not completely satisfied, return it and buy the other one.

Games on the 360 cannot exceed 1080i, they are simply unconverted and in most cases are developed in 720p.
