I sit here and try to think of something witty to say.... but it's just sad. Most pa roads are almost that bad.

But most of the roads don't have plumes of smoke & steam jetting out of them

Not geothermal...underground coal mine caught fire 40+ years ago in a PA town called Centralia and is still on fire. The town is now a ghost town and the old highway has been damaged from the heat.

That just looks like a typical road around here just after winter during the spring thaw...
