tech gurus HELP ME PLEASE!!
Alright just picked up a 42in LCD tv. Got it all hooked up to the digital cable box with a HDMI cable, but the picture seems to slightly snowy. Is there something i can do do get rid of this snowyness, or is just the result of a bigger picture? Its really annoying, bought LCD tv for clarity and now its not any better then my old tube tv
you know, you might wanna try to hook it up via component cables to see if that fixes it. when i hooked up my charter cable box to my 40" sony lcd via hdmi, the picture was a little snowy on some channels... i connected it via component instead and the picture was great.
well, the regular channels are only sent at 480i, so they'll look like ass regardless. makes sure that on your cablebox, that you select that your tv only does 1080i, so that it will upconvert the 480i signal to that.
what cable box do you have? can you do that with a comcast box?
standard analog TV content will look like ass on HDTVs.
standard digital may look a little better.
Main reason why we havent bought an HDTV yet
what box do you have?
