are you using cheap HDMI cables? I bought one from eBay and my picture was green. I went to CC and bought a belkin HDMI cable and solved my problem.

I think you need a signal amplifier. Depending on the current state of your coax cables leading (and the sheer distance too) into the cable box, you're having lots of signal degradation.

Google for your cable box but you can check your signal levels in the setup/info screen. I have a very similar HD box for mine and I can check signal levels. That will at least tell you if they are good or if you need to get the cable co out there.
standard cable looks like shit on big HDTV's...period
