Wegmans
Wegmans is awesome. Their prices are decent but what makes them awesome is the selection
I don't buy food at the super walmart... but the neighborhood market seems to have a different line of food
I actually have a Wegmans next door to my apartment complex and it drains my wallet because I go at 2am all the time.
Thats such a stereotype - anyway I use self-checkout. And when you buy boxed or canned food it doesn't matter where you get it. Selection wise wegmans do have quite a bit, but I can get a significantly smaller bill NOT shopping at wegmans.

I don't find Wegman's to be overpriced. They are certainly a good company and give back to the community. It's really commendable that a company can make something as mundane as shopping for groceries an enjoyable task.
Walmart is...ugh.

There was a place around DC called Sutton Place Gourmet that got bought by this other place called Balducci's from up around NY and CT. I guess that was enough for Wegmans to decide to expand to the MD/DC/VA market.
Here in Madison there's this place Metcalfe's...they own a franchise of a more "regular" regional grocery store chain called Sentry but then there are Metcalfe's Sentry which is all fancy schmancy. If for some reason I felt like wasting even more money on groceries, there's always Whole Foods.
