I always laugh when people say stuff like that... who made the rule of how much brine to put for a poper dirty martini??

Its to tase... some like it dirty other not so dirty. That whay when you order a dirty martini the first is not the best, and you let them know on your second martini if you want it dirtier or less...

look up how to make one some time or ask a bartender at a high end bar/club/restaurant. Most normal places over olive juice a dirty because its less liquor so you have to buy more of them. If you are drinking a dirty its because you like a little edge off the general taste of the vodka. A proper dirty should have a splash, sorry if you are one of the wierdos who likes half a cup of olive juice.

that make no sense dude. If you put 2 oz of vodka (or gin) with half a oz or vermouth... adding 1 oz of brine, or 1/2 wont make a difference as to how much alcohol contant.

I dont know what kind of place you go to but here the alcohol contant stay the same :squint:

if a glass holds 4oz and 2oz of it is brine instead of 1oz than yes less alcohol.

lee is right tark....

dirty martinis are meant to have just a splash of olive juice, nothing more. thats the correct way of making them. theres no saying that there arent other ways of doing it to suit personal taste, but the correct formula calls for a splash of juice
