Default electrical question....

took the battery leads off my car to clean the corrosion buildup off them & now the power door locks don't work from any button & the power windows on the passenger side don't work from the driver's side controls but do from the passenger side :dunno: & btw...drivers side windows work from drivers side controls

this happened once before when my car was in the body shop a few months ago having some body work done & it all just magically started working a few days after.....

any ideas???

passenger side controls passenger side & drivers side controls drivers side, but not passenger, so they work but not from the drivers side....almost like the switch is bad, but cleaning the corrosion off the battery terminals wouldn't cause the switch to go bad

only thing that doesn't work at all now is the power door locks

what gets me is this EXACT SAME THING happened the last time the battery was disconnected when the bodywork was being done & it just magically all started working a few days later & hasn't had a problem since

im going with a ground / wiring issue... or the switch itself could be failing

Try disconnecting the battery again and see if that changes anything.

how did you reconnect the battery? Positive first, then negative? I believe the multiplexing unit (does the door locks and windows) is located in the drivers door. The passenger side window may work because it's basically controlling the motor directly when you use the switch on that door. The switch on the drivers side goes through the multiplexing unit within the door. Do your rear windows work from the drivers door? A bad ground could cause this issue.
