It is kind of expensive though, but would pay off in the long run if it worked well. I have never used one personally.

If your parents have TIVO or a DVR, you could hook it up to that. That would be sweet.
yeah, the initial cost would be a little expensive but I would save so much money if I can pull this off.
my parents have comcast on demand, so I'd be able to watch all the movies they have access to, including HD movies.
I'm planing on trying this out towards the fall so if I can pull this off I'll post up how its working for me.

You should also check the bandwidth requirements of both your parents internet and yours to make sure they both will work.

I'm sure I'm going to have to check a bunch of things before I know if I can pull this off. I know that there is a device called the slingbox catcher that allows you to take a youtube vid and display it on the TV wirelessly. if I get both of those, I think that would allow me to pull off what I'm planing.

all you have to do is piggy back on your parents or someone that already has a pimp setup that has no need for a slingbox, maybe throw a couple bucks their way for use of the cable. there is always a way to beat the system

after reading this review I don't think it will work the way I want. you need a really fast connection for it to work, and the connection I'm borrowing isn't as fast as they speeds they say you need. I'm still going to do some research, I'm determined to get this to work! in the name of all cheap bastards everywhere!

i'm thinking about getting one because my gf's parents live near san diego and they get all the padres games. i like to watch them, but they don't show them up here. i'd also like to get someone in the kansas city area to put one up for me so i can watch the chiefs games.
