Anyway I have two problems:

1) It won't rip the last chapter, which has a couple shots I need. Now you said your technique will let me pick a frame range, so that's coo.

2) The stuff I ripped had subtitles, wtf.

 

You can take the subtitles out. It think you do it under "stream processing". I don't have it on my work computer so I can't check right now. You can also just choose the chapters you want.

 

What settings should I use for uncompressed? BTW I found the subtitles off thingy.

get the latest version of AnyDVD. This program has been really useful for ripping.

It just installs and you never see it. It's great. I just sits there and removes copy protection from the cd so windows see's it as just an unencrypted dvd. Making ripping with something else, DVDShrink, DVD Decrypter, etc... much easier.

I'd almost buy it, but not for $50. If it was $20, I might actually buy it.

 

download and install: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guid.../amvapp-21.exe

~install that pack, all the tools are found in it's program folder in the start menu. NOTE THAT THERE IS A PREMIERE PLUGIN... to use it just find your premiere plugins folder when it asks

~use DGindex to open your ripped VOBs, make sure you grab all of them using ctrl/shift+clicking when you goto open

~select the range you want for video. if you want the whole thing, just make sure it's there and you're good to go... if you want parts you can select them using the [ ] buttons on the player, and later you can simply save more project files... (please try a pass through with one file first before attempting to do all of them and coming out with negative results)

~If the video is progressive (which it probably is being a digitally rendered movie) goto video->field operations->FORCED FILM

~goto file->save project and select a name.

~now this should take less than 10 minutes... while it's doing this open notepad and create a file with the text:

MPEG2Source("C:\yourmovie\clip.d2v")

~save this as a file "clip.avs"

~~~~this AVS file should open in premiere just like a video, to get the audio MUX it with the audio ripped in the C:\yourmovie\ folder remember any delays incurred must be allowed for in the MUXing, the filename should explain if there is one, and if so how long it is.

NOTES: if the movie is anamorphic you may need to do some stretching to make it look good-- but premiere should be able to do this.

if premiere doesn't like the AC3 files outputed for the audio you can select to process the AC3 into wav's in the DGindex program in the audio tab. besweet can take care of it after the fact as well....
