He'll eventually eat it. The other fish will stray away from it and he'll take over.

My tank is the same size as yours by the way.

I want to start a salt water tank later on. I think starting out with a freshwater will prepare you. Also I found another baby fish, now there's three . Oh, and the water's been cloudy for almost a week now, what can I do??

Water can only hold so much oxygen (8 - 9 mg/L), so running at saturation won't bother them. Too many bubbles could be a problem, but as long as you don't turn it into a jacuzzi, it should be fine to use all three diffuser positions.

I used to keep cichlids (is that how you spell that? I forget) in a 55 gallon tank. I had two that were vying for the alpha fish spot. Each one ruled half of the tank. Every once an awhile they would come out and fight. It was very entertaining.

looks like i might be moving soon, so i guess when i break my tank down i'm just gonna set it back up for freshwater....if i even have room for it in my new place

if not then hey zack (aka zma21)...care to make a roadtrip to nashville for a CHEAP 52-gallon flat-back hex aquarium, stand & filter?

saltwater is nice, but its way too much work for my lazy ass
