Honestly, I can tell you all day what I think sounds good. But it may turn out you think it sounds like garbage. Sound is very personal.

I like what I hear in the JBL Venue Series floorstandings, both the Stadium and Stage. They have a very warm sound.

Klipsch on the other hand, the Synergy Series can be too harsh for me at times. The Reference Series are smoother IMO.

What i'm getting at is, go to places and listen. Don't let a salesmen tell you what he thinks sounds good, listen to everything in the store. Go to several places; Circuit City, Best Buy, Local Hi-Fi Shops, whatever is around you. Develop your own opinion on sound.

I am waiting for the spending on the woodshop to cease before I get my Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi.

Current fronts: http://www.gr-research.com/kits/av3.shtm

Current center: http://www.gr-research.com/kits/av3s.shtm

Current rears: http://www.gr-research.com/kits/av1rs.shtm

Current Sub: http://www.gr-research.com/drivers/sub_pr.shtm

The fronts, center, and sub are painted a bluish grey, and the rears are painted to match my room, so a dark blue.

Projector is a Infocus SP4805, probably going to replace it sometime this year.

All wiring is 10 gauge from http://www.bluejeanscable.com

any of you guys have any experence with the wirless rear satalite speakers? It would be perfect for my setup at my place, but I'm not sure if its worth it considering it won't be running off the main component, it will be running of a rear component.
I know most of you guys are not fans of HTiB systems, but are they at least decent for a starter system? I don't need something that cranks, I just want something that sounds decent. My plan is to get a 36-42" lcd flat pannel, and once I get that I'll start shopping around for the surround sound system.(I'm just starting to read up on sound stuff now) Just like with the TV, I'm going to be taking mutiple trips to a few stores to get a feel of what I like.

No I don't as long as there isn't a huge discrepency between the two.

If there is, your speakers probably aren't symmetircally arranged anyway, which will kill the sound to begin with.
