Honestly, I can tell you all day what I think sounds good. But it may turn out you think it sounds like garbage. Sound is very personal.

I like what I hear in the JBL Venue Series floorstandings, both the Stadium and Stage. They have a very warm sound.

Klipsch on the other hand, the Synergy Series can be too harsh for me at times. The Reference Series are smoother IMO.

What i'm getting at is, go to places and listen. Don't let a salesmen tell you what he thinks sounds good, listen to everything in the store. Go to several places; Circuit City, Best Buy, Local Hi-Fi Shops, whatever is around you. Develop your own opinion on sound.
