Serious question...
Not quite the step as you, but I am looking to start over in a new city. A lot of recent events have made it more possible than ever so if the right opportunity comes along; which it should, I am out of Philly for good.
It basically took me NOT finding a job to figure out what I wanted to do, and what I didn't want to do.

Do you really want to spend the rest of your working career doing something you hate?
I'm glad that I like my job. I hope you find a career that you like.
As others have noted, it's hard to start over. Some folks stick it out in a career path they do not like by finding a hobby/pastime that they really enjoy. Makes going back to work worth it.

I'm in the same vote. I'm currently working for a dealer but went to school for computer engineering and graduated. Now how I got myself where I am now i'm not sure but i'm looking to get out of it ASAP. I was actually on the web posting my resume today on a few sites (career builder,monster,hotjobs,etc...). Not really happy with what i'm doing and I want to change that. I dread waking up in the morning and hating to go to work. It's not fun at all.
Good luck though in which ever path you decide is best for you.

I am sure a lot of you guys are in same shoes I am in, maybe not 7 years later and a kid but close enough.
And Eddie, trust me, money is not everything. If you don't know it yet, you will find out few years from now, maybe many but one day you will wake up and tell yourself "shit, what am I doing".
