First day on the job today as a Service Advisor for Ford. Approximately maybe 6 customers came in at one time in the morning. It was kinda busy and then later it died down. Talked to a few customers, took some phone calls in, tried to process some paperwork. Toughest part of my job is learning how to use the damn program and remembering codes and prices for different services. Most of the time I ended up just sitting around and talking, surfing the net a little bit. My co worker bought us MickeyD's for breakfast and my boss and us sat on our fat asses and talked shiet all day. This job is fucking great! I can imagine it getting a little hectic when it is busy but after all the work has been processed, you can just sick back and relax.
upselling? like dicking people to pay for stuff they don't need?
Pretty much. I mean they come in for the schedule maintenance, we let them know about other services that we can add on. If they decide to do it, we get something for that. :hs: But it's not as bad as you make it sound. h:

Edit: Preventive maintenance.
like selling rust proofing to little old ladies?
preventative maintenance would be sending them to a honda or toyota dealership :chuckles:

I never told them to buy a Ford. :hs: Also we take care of other make and models too, not just Ford. But it just so happens that every customer who purchases a new or used vehicle gets a free oil change from us and being that we are at a Ford dealership, 90% of the cars we get are Fords. I'm one of the rare employees who drive a Honda. :chuckles:
