LOL at you guys prefab...

Prefab are usually manufacture in sections, like wall, roof ect... and they shit it in parts then assemble it on site like a big ass LEGO. WHy the fuck would you want to ship a fully assembled house when you can just assemble it on site

Advantage of prefab is that the plans are already made... you can change them if you want and have a custom prefab home built. then you also choose all the finishing material and your set. your home can be ready turn key in like 2 months.

ALso if you are going to a home think about building a duplex... can be advanageous for you. if you dont need a too big of a house its perfect.

1 Last thing, for all of your furniture, finishing material, plumbing and all that shit buy a membership at Directbuy it will save you a ahit load of money... not worth it for peeps with little renovations but for a new construction you safe a bunddle.

Pre-Fab's of today are far ahead of Manufactured home's of yesterday.

while that may have been your experience, it doesn't mean it's the same for all.

I've seen prefab houses halves that were loaded on to trucks (wideload joke goes here) and then put together on site. There are others where you get the walls, etc trucked then the walls go up.

What is the advantage of having it shipped fully assembled? seams like it would limit the size and be more costly

I know they exist but i didnt think they were popular.

it's extremely popular here. I think it's because there is less on-site assembly time. On site cost would be more expensive than factory cost per hour.
