if the lights go down there is a current drain. power is going somewhere...
and i'm asking because 10W30 might give him some major problems at extreme temperatures, esp if there is already a problem with the starter system
that would be relevant if it had issues rolling over.
the problem is he isnt gettin juice to the starter...its not even clicking.
check the connections. your bound to have a bad one id guess. if interior systems work but it wont roll the connection is more than likely loose. it allows enough power/ good enough connection for low drain like that but it cant supply enough to the starter.
as for 10w30 being an issue...i run 10w30 year round in the cars/trucks and i see temps regular -10 or colder...never had a issue using it.
