thats pretty much my problem with the whole issue.

I am all for doing the little things to help out, but Cali banning light bulbs is a little over the top as well as the Kyoto crap. I recycle as much as I can and I try to conserve as much electricity as I can. The nanny state stuff is just too much. Don't tell people how they should do things, give them the option to do what they want. Chances are more people will be willing to take the initative to do the right thing. The other problem I have is it seems like all the countries of the world are all over America but China always gets a pass and they are way worse then us pollution wise.

Funny how everyone shut up about global warming when we got down to about three degrees. I don't believe there is sufficient evidence to support global warming, but I think it's undeniable that pollution does have a localized impact. I don't need to be convinced that the sky is falling in order to want things cleaner and more efficient.

I was cracking up looking at the drudgereport one day when they said Pelosi was having an emergency global warming meeting and they had a picture of an orange encased in ice above the story to point out how stupid the global warming alarmist are.:chuckles:

I've tuned out the regular TV media when it comes to global warming.
The TV news networks have far too much corporate influence and not enough hard science.

That said, pollution is playing a role in global climate change.
When you look at the peer-reviewed scientific articles, there is no dissent.
And it pisses me off to see MTA buses spewing streams of soot while the rest of us have to jump through hoops to comply with emissions laws.

But to be totally honest, I'm more worried about running out of petrol.
Compared to rising sea levels, we're going to be in much deeper shit when the bottom falls out of the oil market and our infrastructure grinds to a halt.

Read up on "Peak Oil" and Hubbert's address to the UPI in the mid 60s.
Scary shit to say the least.

Normal fluctuations in the earth's temperature...things like this have been happening forever. Remember the ice ages?

Who's to say that the Earth doesn't go through stages like this every other billion years or so. Of course, mass extinction is imminent if it does happen :uhhok:
