vista ultimate is only $259.99

im waiting for dell to start carrying them with their systems so i can slang the current comp and get a new core 2 duo w/ vista

You will wait a while for Dell, they say that currently does not fit into their pricing schema for low cost machines.

I have a 30% off Dell coupon just sitting here.

I configured an Inspiron 1501 (vista, dual core, 80gb hdd, dvd burner, 1gb memory, big battery) to 699 (the coupon's starting break point) ... and it never deducted. :madr:

with coupon, the lappy would be $490.

I also have the same coupon. You broke 699 before tax/shipping/etc right?

mine turned out to be %15

keep playing with it until the combination works or call them and talk to apu

I get a free upgrade because yesterday I bought a Sony Vaio at Best Buy (saved a TON of money because they were clearing the shelves)
