Default new car buying question

I've never purchased a brand new car before. If the dealership doesn't have what I want can I order from the factory exactly what I want at no additional charge, or is there an associated fee?

I know when I looked getting a car a couple years ago, they said they found one at another dealership but there was a delivery fee or something. h:

They'll charge you destination. Most sticker prices include that already.

So if I price a car with options on the manufacturer's website, how much should I expect to pay in addition to the amount that I figured?

usually they'll take it off the negotiated price, so it won't seem like they are hitting you any extra... it's just a PITA for them to track it down and get it there.

personally i'd start calling dealerships to find out which one has what you want or will be getting one shortly, get a quote from them and keep moving along getting quotes, one better than the next.

let the dealerships fight for you.

sean did this with his RSX a few years back... he went online, got a quote from a dealership like 250 miles away, and then went to like 5 or 6 along the way until he got to the one closest to him

he got the exact car he wanted for much less than MSRP and that was after TTL
