Don't do it by yourself if your goal is to actually make money. If you're just doing it to have fun, then by all means go for it.

Consider it a form of gambling.

$5?!?! wtf dude... even if you get free trades for a month that ont give you shit. i mean how many time do you expect to double it? it would be a waste of time. Even Penny stocks are long time investments. you need to be able to put money in different ventures reading about them and hoping they find that drug, that gold, diamonds... and that can take a long time considering they dont have much money to work with from the begining.

if you want to do it seriously then i suggest reading alot. If you dont have much money to start with (iwouldnt even consider it if you dont have at least $500) you might want to look into mining exploration, pharmaceutical research, telco equipment makers...
