i'm not saying anything about racism, it's a foul dirty thing. but slavery has been practiced in many forms in many places in the past millions of years... it is essential to survival of a developing nation. i'm sorry that human nautre has to come into play and screw everything up for the next few hundred years, but is that the governments fault?

it sucks that it happened, but why dwell on it, it only makes it worse for everyone else.

I think that "get over it" is a Bullshit thing to say. Its important to remember history. However, using that history as an excuse to think and act on the philosophy of "the world owes me" is bullshit too. You should view your life as an individual endeavor and work for what you get. Im sick of the race thing. Im sick of it used as an excuse. It is just as crazy and shallow to persecute whites because of the past as it is the KKK to be the stupid fucks they are. I didnt commit that ridiculous crime of hatred. I give everyone-white, black, pink, whatever, the same amount of slack in life. If someone is an ass, Ill treat them that way. If they are cool, Ill treat them that way too. But I sure as hell wont cut more or less slack based on if someone's pigment is different than mine.

yeah "Get over it" is a brutal way of saying it I guess, but honestly how long do we pay the price for the ignorant world our ancestors lived in?

I give it that even until recent times (60s and 70s) our country was an ugly place to live if you weren't "white" and even today there is a lot of it still going on. Racial stereotypes and prejudice are a fact of life. Slavery has been practiced in every culture around the world in one form or another for centuries.

Now that it has been abolished what more can be done about it to fix the incident? Seriously if we give one group special privelege then another comes in and claims the same or more and at some point it creates a society back to what started it all in the first place. Blacks get angry because the Jews got a larger settlement for the holocaust. Whites are angry because the blacks get more rights due to slavery. Asians want the same for WWII internment camps and the railroad slavery. Irish want compensation for the workers lockout in the early 1900s...and it goes on and on with no end in sight at all.

It shouldnt be forgotten, but really they should get over it. Any time someone accuses a black person of anything or what else, its always "Im being discriminated against!" Sure, sometimes that is the case, but Im willing to bet that most of the time it isnt. Quit trying to cash out on what happened to your ancestors.
