If you want your own restaurant, buy a hotdog cart and get it in a good spot. Make friends with all of the local business owners and get them on your side. Wipe down your cart constantly, and learn the history of the hotdog.

Less start up money, and at least you get to sell food. You'll get your name in the paper, and the banks will recognize you when it's time for you to expand h:

I was just there shooting a Debutante Ball. Yeah, it's cold, but it's still a good idea. You'll be seasonal, but if your fans like you and want to buy your product, you might be able to get a whole-in-the wall location from a landlord that would just love to see your business on his property. Boom...........Indoors

Shit... stand in the cold and you'll get the pitty sale :hsd:

yea and alot of loans.

or they are buying low grade shit.

to have a quality decent restaraunt your going to need a hell of a lot more than 50k. unless your buying a already open restaraunt and using that for the down payment.

like i said. my aunt owned a restaraunt for 12 years...i know for a fact what she had into it. and my entire family both sides has been in business for themselves for well over the last 3 decades. 50k is not going to get you very far in starting your own business.

if you dont know anything about cooking/preparing the type of food you're gonna be serving, dont bother unless you have a partner that does know.

if you serve any alcohol, you're gonna need a permit from the city to do so.

as far as money goes, its like any other business... you can make bank, nothing, break even, or just a decent amount.

I spec'd a couple of hood systems with fire suppression and washdown with an existing makeup air system and the price I gave was the middle bid of 5 estimates. I used to specify equipment purchases for the hotels that I worked in. I specified all capital purchases in all areas of the hotel and my staff maintained all the equipment.
