Default i was just thinking.....

about the whole al-queda network and how they use websites and the internet alot.

how come noone, especially the govt, has ever thought to employ the hackers that break the govt web to break into these guys? i mean i know they obviously have to be trying to use the net to find these guys through ip's and whatnot. but we all know that the best hackers are def not employed by the govt.

dont you think it would be a good idea to just unleash the worlds top hackers on al-quedas known websites and let them do whatever they want, therby disrupting their systems and possibly doing some backwards ip tracking of some sort? if i was a hacker and the govt's came to me and said heres a list of 30 websites that we want you to do whatever you can and want to and we wont even bat a eye...oh by the way these are the terrorist groups that want to destroy everythign your country stands for...i know id be right on board

im sure its possible, i just thought it would be like a good thing for them to do. am i crazy?

Not a bad Idea.....and in return their record gets cleaned and get a little $$$ on the side.

I would assume it would be hard to get the hackers to come approach the government without thinking they wouldn't be in some kind of trouble.

They do.

Not to start a battle on politics, but President Bush doesn't do a very good job of informing the public. There are several people employed doing exactly that. My dad works for the government, he brought me some information on it before...

true but if the govt posted "help wanted" adds on the known boards these guys frequent and we know they know which ones, then they would pop out.

and i honestly would be willing to do it for a simple agreement to forget everything ive done in the past...money wouldnt be as big a deal. because think about it. if they were successful guaranteed they could pull banking info and poof there goes some terrorist funds to my accounts

well obivously i know they are doing something...but like i said no way in hell they are using the best people they could or being as aggressive about it as they could because they dont have the right people. you know how many problems a simple tracking virus provides...drop one into these guys website taht anytime someone begins to upload to the site it dowloands itself and starts wreaking havoc

as for the informing part...its not just him who does that. no president or political officer ever informs the public enough.

You and me both... h:

I have my windows 2k MCSE, MCP, CCNA, and CCNP - all by my senior year in high school (2002). I've since been in trouble a time or two, which I fear will hold me back from such a position when I finally finish college.

There are also gov't employees who do nothing but search the internet for the best of the hackers, most knowledgable programers, etc. Not for the porpuse of prosecution, but for the behind the scenes job's your thinking of. It's one of those things that if they advertised, or even mentioned to the public - they could ruin entire missions. Basically, if you meet the criteria they will contact you. Usually by knocking on your door.

They do have people doing stuff like that but it's way too easy to register a domain and host it somewhere without making it traceable to you. It's not like Osama is going to an internet cafe in Afghanistan and uploading it himself anyway. It's gonna be some random person in an internet cafe in the middle east, africa or europe and he'll have no usefull contact info. If they're smart the Al-Qaeda people who contact the website designer use prepaid cell phones and replace them a lot.

thats why im saying theres a reason they arent telling us what they do. which in cases like this are fine by me. because all the govt has to do then is just claim itwas a random hacker attack and they will attempt to prosecute but who seriously is gonna be worried about attacks on a terrorists website network.

just imagine though if their able to slowly build up a list of logon times and locations for server uploads are being done from...they build a picture, send in operatives to check who's uploading, verify target info...then they position and wait and when they get the next spike...they move in, either capture everything or just drop a nice little airmail delivery.

There's also people in other areas of the world trying to make sense of the Al-Qaeda's encrypted messages. I'm sure Osama is smart enough to pay other's to communicate for him. I'm sure he's in hiding somewhere with huge amounts of money and not bringing any attention to himself.

Kind of like the elite drug dealers.
