No it's OK, his reasons are perfectly fine for not wanting to go, however, I think he should go because he knew what he was expected to do for signing up.

I was a draftee and only had 2 year total commitment and by the time I got out of boot camp and OTC I had little more than a year to go. I got out of the Corps in 1971.
I knew it was something, just not 6yrs. So were you green or gold? I see you say OTC (officer training course) What is OCS (Officer candidate school?)

The war started before he signed up. He should do his duty and go.

It's not his choice. Every service member who signs up knows this. So how about you just calm the fuck down.

Bush's Administration capitalized on this fact and Bush got his war, got re-elected because of the war ("terror threat"), and one branch of the government mislead another with FALSE intelligence (WMD's)

Bush is in the wrong. But Homeboy is also in the wrong because unfortunately he did Sign his life over to the Man whom he is rebeling against.

6 yearsPrison and being called a coward for the rest of his life , better than bein dead.
I see nothing admirable in his actions. Being an officer, he should be leading and be setting an example for other men and women. Instead, he is doing the opposite. His dereliction of his duty is disgusting.

There is no reason to make this debate political.

I am so glad that there are thousands of others willing to step up, knowing the dangers, but also knowing that they have a job to do and an obligation to fulfill.

If you sign up, you are at the will of the administration. What you feel about how they do there job does not matter. The undersigned can (will) fight in the war or wars that the govt. at the time deems just.
you = get paid/ they = get a warrior

Throw that bitch in the brig

That is all
