Bush's Administration capitalized on this fact and Bush got his war, got re-elected because of the war ("terror threat"), and one branch of the government mislead another with FALSE intelligence (WMD's)

Bush is in the wrong. But Homeboy is also in the wrong because unfortunately he did Sign his life over to the Man whom he is rebeling against.

6 yearsPrison and being called a coward for the rest of his life , better than bein dead.

We are not necessarily agreeing with his actions. And I quote and requote the man above for truth, because I agree with his view of the war and of this whole situation. But this is not the place nor the time to argue about the war...

Your are correct. For the Army (my branch) from 1stLt. it goes Captain, Major, Lt. Colonel, Colonel, 1 star. 2 star, 3 star and 4 star General, 5 star upon commision of the president, but there has not been one of those since before I was born.

This must have gone to West Point and still owes the Army some time for initial payback to the military for giving him an education. Otherwise, any officer not under entitlement could just resign from their duties. There is no contract for officers, just enlisted personnel.

Graduating from any of the military academies requires 6 years of service as a commissioned officer, if you don't graduate you have to finish a total of six years from the time you started the academy. I turned down a Presidential appointment to the Naval Academy in my senior year in high school after reading this in the fine print (Viet Nam was the main assignment for new lt's and ensigns), turned down an appointment to OCS when I was in boot camp because it meant a 2 year commitment after completing OCS (see comment above). I was a draftee and only had 2 year total commitment and by the time I got out of boot camp and OTC I had little more than a year to go. I got out of the Corps in 1971.

So next time you enter a contract with someone where they are suppose to perform a service for you and they don't complete the task remember it's ok for them to do what they want because it's their choice.

By saying his reasons for not going are correct you are argreeing with his actions. I fail to see how you aren't, his reasons are why he isn't going, and you idiots think he is right. HE HAS NO FUCKING CHOICE NO MATTER WHAT HE THINKS OF THIS WHOLE WAR, hence why he should be thrown in federal prison for disobeying an order.

The only people that brought up the war in this thread were the people that agreed with the soldier's actions. Everyone else stated how cowardly his acts were.

EHREN WATADA: Sure. I think that in March of 2003 when I joined up,
That negates his entire argument. He signed up after the war started and now he's pussing out. Try that coward for desertion.
