Our little lovely by Henry Hobs Richardson sits in disrepair. It's really a massive set of buildings, but the trees make it appear to be quaint. I've been in it. It's not really that creepy to me, but I don't hold very romanticized views of what went on inside. Certainly these days we have found ways to make money off of the mentally ill!

not sure, i dont really know much about it, but the architechture is pretty incredible. they dont make em like that anymore. like i say, my grandma worked there a long long time ago but thats as much as she would ever say about it... just "when i worked at the state hospital" or "such and such person that i worked with at the state hospital" needless to say it was one of many sites of experimenting with the ill... lobotomies, etc. cant imagine it was a place for the faint at heart.

It's actually amazing how little we know about the human brain.
