Here is why I bought one.
Racing and daily driving my GS-R became rather expensive. Since my brother-in-law and I had a race car, I felt the GS-R had its time and was due to retire. Thus I was in a market for a nice sports car that I can have fun without having to mod so much. My initial choices were the 350z Track, EVO, GTO, and the S2000.
I wanted the Z because I liked the idea of having a RWD car with HIDs, Volks, and NAV completely stock. Torque is always a good thing so this was the initial no.1 choice. My cousin had picked up a '04 G35 with NAV at the time. I thought it was a very nice piece. I drove it a few times, but could not get over the "yacht-like" handling. Car doesn't have the top-end as you would expect. All the fun is down low. Then I found myself having to drop him off at the Infiniti dealership because he was constantly having electrical problems and fitment issues. Then I drove a Z, liked the power delivery but the seating position and the rear-view visibility was horrid. Also, everyone and their moms has this car.....I clearly wanted something different.
Then comes the EVO. Awesome performance at the fraction of the cost. But stuffing all the performance with a nice price has disadvantages. One, I'm in a position where I can't dump money into my car....I have much higher priorities at this time. I've already done my share of competing, this would be too tempting for me. The interior to me is something that should be of better quality for a 30k car. Also, I'm a low-profile guy.......and that car is just too loud looking for me. Before you ask, I think it doesn't look good at all sans wing.
Here comes the GTO. 6.0 V8 400hp power for 30k? Who wouldn't agree that's an awesome deal. I wouldn't have to worry about typical GM build quality, as it's built with tighter standards in Australia. Power's great, handling is decent, and I would never be hassled by cops. On top of that, no one buys these cars so you can often find them heavily discounted. On the flip side of the coin, it looks like a gad damn Grand Prix with the world's most boring looks. Even the hood scoops couldn't have saved this. I like to heel-toe, from what I gathered it's impossible due to the spacing of the pedals. Also, living in California you have to deal with compact parking and the like that wouldn't cater too well for a car this size.
At last, I look at the S2000. I don't like convertibles nor lack of torque. But I do like a driving experience that feels alot more than 30k. I grew up on Hondas and felt very at home when I first drove it. Very fun powerband, surgical handling, and not enough seats that I have to bring my friends around. I don't have kids nor plan to start a family soon, so that wasn't a factor. Sure the utility sucks, not so much when all your friends have full-sized trucks. After two years of having no mods (other than wider tires), this thing still puts a smile on my face. It's not one of those cars where you get bored after a week. It still surprises me how much fun you can have out of this car. People call it a fag car? I got compliments all the time from all walks of people. I've had girls flash their tits at me, some idiot call it a Maserati, and many other funny random comments. I don't regret at all choosing the S2000.
There you have it. I don't understand what you're trying to get at Puffy, but when someone constantly takes their time out on criticizing on other people's cars...it seems to me they're either jealous or have no life. So keep up the good work, we all need a village idiot to laugh at here.

my only gripe with these cars, like any other car thats been out for a really long time, kids are getting these cars used for cheap and trying to come off as having money and a high end honda. its a fucking honda, how high end can it get?? lol. and even brand new, its still a measly $34k car. anyway. end of my rant.
