Jae, what you're seeing is an influx of field mice. They scatter indoors during the winter months.
I can only suggest:
leaving out plates of Decon. It won't kill them on the spot. They'll bring back the poison to their nests.
putting all of your pantry food in tupper wear.

I doubt that's what i use as i personally used several decon products that all failed. What i do is go to the exterminator store and buy shit....what im doing is making several calls until i get a reply...if i dont get a reply...she will receive a bill for all work done to my apt.
Mice don't like the smell of moth balls or air fresheners. I had mice that decided that my car was going to be their home so I put air fresheners under every seat, in the glove compartment, and in the trunk and those bastards left pretty quick.
