Default Custom arcade/racing gaming system...any ideas??

I have a spare 30" flat screen (not lcd, it's crt) or a 32" wega that I can use. Mainly looking to build for my nephew a badass gaming platform. Don't care for the size either.
Any DIY websites out there you know of? a picture at least??

i have tools (saw table, jig saw, router, airguns etc..) and don't mind spending a bit on this.

BTW, this will mainly be plug and play, no emulators or anything since my nephew is too young too appreciate old school games (plus he likes the graphics of the newer gaming systems).

:edit:

i'm thinking of something like this

but with the top and back somewhat covered up, so there's surround sound and the top can house some neon lights and whatnots

PS2 or PC?

There's a company called HotSeat that makes an awesome pre-fabbed racing rig that can work with PS2s and PCs, and I've played on them

I'd go PC, even if he doesn't appreciate old games. You'll have alot more options and available games.

If it were me, i'd use a Recaro Seat and some Infinity component sets.

He's 6 and mostly play ps2 and xbox games, I'm not too sure about PC games. My cousins would probably come over and hog the damn thing.

Man, I'm liking hotseat, but metal fabrication is something i haven't try yet. The simplicity factor is awesome.

I'm sticking with the CRT and arcade style though. The PC thing is an option. I'll ponder on that a bit.
