Default RSX Type S or Built GSR

So, I REALLY want an RSX-S!!!

There aren't many left around me, and I am considering moving on from my GSR. I can't afford to keep both. My GSR is paid for, but a $450 payment is out of the question. I love modifying and tunning, but it would be so nice to have a new car with a warranty. I'm stumped...

My GSR was just built with CP Pistons, Eagle Rods, Supertech Valve springs, Retainers and Nitride Coated "ITR Style" Valves, Blox IM, Camgears, and some other stuff. Also got an exedy clutch and brand new OEM overhaul parts. I haven't even put 15 miles on the car since the rebuild. I have a Garret T3/TO4E also, and a ramhorn manifold but still need a few more turbo parts to complete.

The car needs body work, the rear 1\4 pannel was hit while I was sleeping. Not major, but still bothers me. And an OEM paint job. (MR)

There's a MR RSX-S with 200 miles for $21,500 really close to me. Is this a good price? They offered me $11,500 for my 2001 GSR with 60,000 on the odo. and a fresh overhaul.

I'm torn in two, I wish i could keep both. :happysad:

Go with the one you can easily afford.

I can afford my GSR fine (it's paid for), and I can afford payments of an RSX if I sell my GSR and throw that down. I have some $$ saved, but I'm not parting with any more of that for a car. Otherwise, i'd just keep the GSR and still buy the RSX.

The salesman is a friend of mine, he's offering me $11,500 for my GSR. Anybody know how much commission they typically make off a sale? He's telling me that to sell me the RSX for $21,500 - I'm already getting a good break.

I'm just stumped on the decision, i'll probably regret not having my Integra. I'll also probably regret passing up my last chance for a new RSX.

do you plan to mod the rsx-s too? you've already spent a lot of time and money on the gsr. why not finish the boost setup?

specs how? there are no real options. that leaves the aspec kit h:

btw, i paid $21,999 for my 05 rsx-s (2 miles) which included all season mats, splash guards, wheel locks, trunk tray + tax. it doesn't sound like a bad deal.

It's an 06 RSX-S with no extra options. It's red, with the 17 inch wheels. I didn't ask but i'm sure they can put the extra lip kit on for a fee.

I probably should just finish my GSR, but driving that RSX was soo nice. I've never owned a brand new car before, with a warranty. And if I buy it, I probably won't mod from the start. Mabye some wheels, basic suspension and exhaust. Cam's and Kpro would be nice - but i'm sure it voids the warranty which defeats the purpose of wanting a brand new car.

I'll be hating my self for parting with my Integra, and I'll hate myself for missing the last opportunity to get a new RSX.

question is do you need a new car?

if your old car works fine why get something new:hsdunno:

save your money for a down payment on a house.

start investing in stocks, bonds, or retirement: Roth IRA, 401k ect...

invest first then you can buy a new car cash with no payments.

I got $$ saved for my house fund. I won't touch that and I can contiune to add the same amount to it even with a car payment. I've been saving $100 a month since I started working at 15. I have a 401K, but no other investments.

I spent some of my savings on the integra though.

No i don't need a new car, my integra is great! I just got the itch for the RSX, and it's my last chance for a brand new one.

^^ You are correct in saying that buying a car cash is the best option. I'd only have to take out around 10k though.

This thread is going nowhere, it's a decision I must make. I appreciate all the reply's!

Sounds like a great opportunity. Better take it. It will outlast your gsr by a long shot. :dunno:
