You have a point but here's my take. I have two sets of black friends. The kind that FIT the negative stereotype and the ones that fit in with everyone. If you walk down the street with pants sagging to your ass, do-rags on, red chucks, and talking shit to everyone walking by (which some of my friends do) then you FIT a stereotype. If I walk around in the rain with a t-shirt on, my sandals, raggidy hair and wearing all surf gear, more than likely Ill be labelled as that SoCal surfer bum. Its the same fucking thing.

So what Im getting at is no matter how hard we try NOT to stereotype, it still fucking exists....AND ALWAYS WILL.
