Are you able to format your current HDD? I had a HDD crap out on me, I re-formatted and it was fine after that. Just sucked to lose everything on it.

Well I don't have a windows CD. I can't boot to anything, so I can't reformat.

I'm looking at a Dell with an Intel core duo 2.8ghz, 160gb hd, 1gb ram, dvd rw. It doesn't come with a monitor, but I don't need one. It wouldn't ship until the 28th or 29th....so I'm still thinking about going to look at the HP/Compaq at Fry's later.

I've been looking at dell...priced together a really good system...Pentium D 820 2.8ghz dual proc, 2gb ram, 16x dvd+/-rw, 13-1 card reader, 160gb hd, 20" dell ultrasharp widescreen LCD...for about $980 after tax. I just don't know if I want to spend that much...I had wanted to keep it under $600, which I could probably do without a monitor. However, there is no longer an option for no monitor...at least that I can see.

I'm not going to build a computer. I want something already assembled, windows loaded, etc.
