Which daily driver/ cruiser?
Yo guys, I will be gradutating college in the spring and i have been researching possible daily drivers for a few months. I might be getting the car in the spring or maybe not for a year or longer, but it will take me that long to decide anyway.
What i want in my daily driver:
-$15-25k
-atleast as new as 2000
-automatic with some sort of manual shift mode
-comfortable ride
-somewhat luxurious interior
-4 doors
-RWD would be cool but not a necesity
-half decent get up and go
-some ILL factor
My current cars are a 97 gsr with a fully built 2.0L gsr motor which i never really posted about on h-a since it didnt happen until 2 years after i mentioned doing an NA build. I love it, but It's lowered, stiff, stalls cuz of high c/r and other things. So basically i want my daily driver to give me all the niceties i cant get out of my gsr. I also have an 88 civic sedan for a winter beater.
Some of the cars I've been looking at:
2001-2003 3.2tl type-s
2000 or so audi S4 (reliability?, kinda tight in the back seat?)
2000-2003 E39 540i
2003 lincoln ls (american
)
What do you guys thing about these, any comments on them? Any other suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated.
thanks, -Kyle

I drove the Lincoln LS as a rental for a weekend.
The chassis is excellent for an American car, but the interior is a little hokey. Also the V8 makes lovely noises, but it felt anemic.
I would look at a slightly used GS430 instead.

The mercury marauder i do think is pretty sick, someone has a black one on my street and when it goes by it seems so stealth. However, from the pics i've seen it seems like the interior might be a little mediocre, which wouldnt surprise me. Can anyone verify that?
The gs430 is pretty sick too, that might be a major consideration of mine, i think i need to warm up to the exterior a little tho
Is300's i always thought were real cool, do you know how stiff of a ride it is? What do you think of the interior, so-so?
and for the last post, do you think i can get a 3rd gen tl for that price range?

BMW - Overpriced, Un-reliable after a few years, Status Symbol, FTL!
(I like the m3's, but I could do sooo much more with less!)
TL's are sexy, luxurious, and meets most of your criteria.
IS300 - RWD! They do have a somewhat sporty suspension, though.
Dodge Charger - I like those. A little big, but pretty quick.

That Marauder looks too much like POPO to me. A Cobra V8 is very appealing though. I just spent the last few days driving my cousins 93 Cobra - RWD & Torque is so fun! I miss my Mustang.
About all the input I have.
