Default Winter Tires are going on today...

Yeah, I decided to have them put the winter tires on the RSX-s today. The General Exclaims performed well for the summer. They are a very good tire for the price. But as the promise of colder weather and snow awaits us it's time for the Dunlop WinterSports to make their appearance. This will be their 4 winter and they are still looking real good.

I've been real happy with the Dunlop M3 WinterSports. They're V rated and they work quite well in all the conditions that we face here in the winter. That includes driving through the slush that builds up on the roads too. Dry traction is very good also which helps after the roads are cleared. They are a bit noisy though, I really noticed it this morning on the way home after taking off the Exclaims, didn't notice the noise so much when I had the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s on and switched to the winter tires.

I don't have much of a choice since I run summer max performance tires, they get real squirrely in the cold and snow.

very true...the civic just doesnt have a need for summer vs winter tires... the teg does but she doesnt drive in snow, nor runs so the point is moot

northern michigan and the UP department of transportation handle snow fall much better than they do in Lansing. I run snow tires every year. They may only be needed a handful of times, but those handful of times they have saved my ass.

Thankfully I only have to travel on the main roads. I'm not too concerned about my Accord since it has 4 new all seasons on it but my Mazda has so-called "all seasons" which from the looks of them means "all seasons except winter."

It's all about the tires. I've been using Dunlop Graspic's on the IS the last couple years. I'm really happy with them.
