Its a classic case of how people think of themselves as being centered in their car; the driver puts himself directly over the pit. Guarantee the driver is one of those people that drives around with half his car into the right lane.

i have a bad sense of judgement when it comes to the right side of my car. Specially when there's a barrier next to me on the right

I wouldn't be too surprise if the driver was on the cell phone or for that matter, a woman. I've seen a lot of woman folks do stupid things with their cars... like drive off the road as she was turning right and forgot to let go of the steering wheel while she was on the cell.
