Recent diagnosis...:(
So I was recently diagnosed with some conguntavitis (not pink eye) on my eye lids that cause swelling and mucus discharge and the more it happens the more frequent you can get it...needless to say I wear contacts and when this happens it gunks up my contacts, and causes me to tear a lot which is NOT good when riding on a motorcycle.
So I can get Custom Lasik on both eyes for $4300 after insurance...but I don't really have the money, but it will fully cure the crap, or I bitch and moan about having to wear glasses (I squint a lot from sunlight) and wear contacts for one day, and take them out when I sleep...I HATE that. I love sleeping in my contacts.
I shutter when I see anything about eyes done, like the otherday on "How is it Made" they showed Lasik being done and it freaked me out.
I am afraid that I won't be able to drive at night that easily...or have to wait a few weeks before getting on a motorcycle again, let alone the turn aroud time for night driving period.
I know there are some Lasik peeps...keep the glasses/contacts or go lasik...I am 23

my mom recently had lasik done in both eyes, after wearing glasses for 30+ years. Although she lost most of her vision up close, and thus has to carry bifocals around 24/7... she said she would do it again. i was present for the whole procedure, and it's pretty interesting. Took no more than 5-10 minutes per eye, and we were in and out of the office in probably 2 hours. No pain during the procedure, but afterwards, she described it as feeling like having sand in your eyes + rubbing raw onions in them for the first day or so.

go lasik. It's not bad, doesn't hurt just really uncomfortable. The whole procedure lasts about 5min. I was night driving the next day, probably wasn't the safest choice but I could see without much trouble. It's one of the best things I have ever done. Just make sure you pay attention to the docs instructions about the anti-inflammatory drops. I forgot to put them in and woke up with my eyes on fire, put them in and was better in 10min.
