Being financially happy is a perfectly fesible goal. You CAN get there with the knowledge you have. You just need to prove yourself first. I went through the MCSE program before attending school, it brought a few job oppertunitys my way. (still in school)

I kinda understand what your trying to say, it is very hard to get a job with computers and no degree. You have to work your ass off just to find somebody to hire you. What do you hate about school? The financial part of it? did you ever think about a tech school, like ITT tech or something that with graduation in a year?
We don't have ITT Tech in canada. Up here its about the A+ and MCSE and both of which are $$$ of what I don't have.

Perhaps you just need a motivation kick? Think of it like this, you're eating rice alone right now, wouldn't you want some flavor? Even just soy sauce. Wouldn't you want to add a few drops of soy sauce to your rice? I know I am a noob and I sound stupid. Laugh at me, I don't care. If you can afford to go back to school, I honestly don't think why not do it. If you are comfortable with where you are right now, you would not be questioning whether you should go for the degree or not. Sure, there is nothing that interests you, but hey, so many people get laid just cause sex is good. They don't care about the person who they sleep with. Sex, satisfaction. If you can hold on to your job for 8 years, you know you've contributed something to that company you're working for. But hey, what about an upgrade for yourself?

(If I make no sense, I apologize. I am just trying to help.)
Makes sense and I know what you are saying, but I can't afford to go to school, I'm just trying to figure out if other people don't really have goals and have settled to go to school just for sake.

If you dont have $$, you can practically get paid to goto school. A+ is good, but becoming out dated. I have my MCSE (100$ per test) and CCNA (250$) - cisco. Hang in there, you'll figure something out. I don't know you well enough to have much good advice for you.

man sorry to hear your about your troubles, right now school is hectic for me, yeah i could just quit and get an job working for my uncle at his garage, but thats no way to live the rest of my life, having to rely on others. your going to have to go back to school somehow man, either that or just stick to your current job or try to get an better job if possible, you surely cant just quit and don't give a damn anymore, Ive thought about that too, but then how the hell will i be able to pay my bills. i opened a business a while ago, why not open a business where "YOU" are the boss, if you have the money, start saving and invest into a business, are you married by any chance.

I've wanted to do my own business for many years, but thats not an option living in an apartment :P Nor do I have the capital to start. No I'm not married, but have a gf, she's really supportive, but sometimes it takes more than that.

If you want to make a decent wage and be able to buy things....then those are your goals. Of course there are different ways to attempt to achieve those goals...going to school seems to be a very popular one, for good reason. But school isnt for everyone...myself included. I really dont like formal education. But its something that needed to be done. So I did it.

You said you know you want to be happy in your life....what makes you happy?

Exactly, I'm not one to really believe in formal education but as time moves on and I get older I start to believe that school is really the only way to get ahead for some of us.

I think some of us are born lucky and land those great jobs that pay $30/hr+ and then there are the ones like me who have to work our asses off to make a decent page to make it by and not live from pay cheque to pay cheque.

I'm a pretty easy going guy and don't really expect much or do much in life. I like going out for dinner to a nice restaurant occasionaly or seeing a good movie on the big screen. I guess if I was just more financially stable in life that I'd be a whole lot happier all around.

ahahhahah samson... yah ... i guess.

Just go back to school. Get a loan or something...

I'll be working on my Masters in a few years.

If you don't want anything to do with your life, end it.
