your mom is just being a mom, God love her.. what ways do u want her to try harder in convincing you not to get a bike? it this a motorcycle or bicycle? there is a guy that lives around here that rides a bicycle. he doesnt follow the rules of the road. he gets up in peoples blind spots and will take off when lights turn green for him to go straight and the car may turn right. he hasnt gotten hit but people honestly cant see him.
if its a motorcycle i work in 2 icus heart and neuro. motorcycle accidents are not pretty.

There was an asshat splitting lanes on the highway on his Harley a couple days ago. Everybody was going 65-70mph. He cut off yours truly, proceeded to split between two cars who had no idea he was coming, cut one of them off, and continue doing this until he disappeared from view. Several cars swerved out of their lanes when he "appeared" right next to their window. I wouldn't have minded if he died.
Splitting lanes during a traffic jam when nobody's moving = fine
Splitting lanes on a moving highway and endangering other motorists = dead biker

The first time I brought my bike to moms, she ignored me until I left the house and then ran after me and told me to be careful. The third time, she actually saw my passion for them and I took her on a ride around the block. She thought it was kinda fun
