I go parallel...I thought you weren't supposed to go ass-to-grass. h:

Squats hurt my spine, though (where the bar rests, it feels bruised)

well, I rest it as comfortably as possible on my shoulders, but it still puts a little pressure there. Obviously I'm not putting 200lbs just on my spine. :ugh:

You should be able to pin up your shoulders so that the bar rests on them, and doesnt touch your spine much, if at all. You should also get a bar pad.

my traps are too weak...I can't get my left trap to grow at all

I go ass to grass with lighter weight/higher rep stuff. When i'm pushing for a PR or near 5rep max, I only go parallel. Then again, heavy for me is featherlight for some of the guys here.

For what it's worth, I don't use a belt or knee wraps or have a spotter, so I know a lot of it is just paranoia.

Most I ever got to was 245 for 5 parallel... Now I'm even way below that since I work fulltime, have night classes, and work again parttime. 4hrs of sleep/night own me.

ass to grass most of the time. when i go real real heavy, i go parallel. i'm scared for my knees.

Im squattin today, and yes i will go ass to grass, if you work out like that you will jump up in weight in no time. My booty is too fat right now.
