It is.

Used to ski. Switched to board (regular foot). No comparison. Snowboarding hands down winner.

From what I've been told (I have never gone skiing)....Skiing is easier. On a snowboard you're pretty much have both feet strapped down so its harder to manuever (sp?) than being on ski's where both feet are independent.

in terms of difficulty, i ski and snowboard, i say they both have their different training advantages and difficulties for starting. also your background in other sports plays a big role in which is initially easier for you to learn...ie skateboarding and wakeboarding help alot when it comes to snowboarding, you already understand the concepts of leaning turns

:werd: if you've played hockey, or know how to skate / rollerblade, skiing isnt that hard to pick up, a lot of the same concepts

I played football and got the hang of snow boarding pretty quick. I think the staying low helped a lot

I was only going straight though, only been once :hs:
