If you're building one right now, Intel Core 2 Duo is definitely the way to go.

i'd look into the core 2's, the only core 2 duo to be outperformed by any of the AMD's was the 1.8GHz

i thnk it's stupid to wait for sales, because by the time you get everything together to build the PC the parts you got on sale are down in price and it'll just end up evening out

I've built my last few pc's and some friends tooo, I think this time I'm going to order a custom one from www.cyberpowerpc.com I'll prolly spend like $100-200 more, but I won't have to deal with shit!!! ahhh

and I'm waiting to order it untill Vista comes out....by then cpu's will be better faster and cheaper tooo!! w00t
