Computer Gurus: I have some challenges for you
1) I have a Sony Vaio with A/V inputs in the front and back. However, I cannot find any programs on the PC to utilize them and Sony people keep telling me to use an app that doesn't work. I'm trying to use my XM SkyFi2 home system that has Audio L/R inputs. Any ideas?
2) Is there a way to individually mute a program (such as media center) in XP MCE 2004?
TIA!

This is where it gets weird...
in the 'Device' list I only have
- Playback through TotalRecorder
- SoundMAX DigitalAudio
- Microsoft Sound Mapper - Output
No mention of AV input jacks

are you sure your looking at the recording devices and not the playback? that list looks like the playback devices. I would think if the drivers for the inputs are installed you should be able to see them in there. unless maybe audacity doesn't see it as an audio device.

My buddy has a good idea to buy an adapter to combine the L/R audio jacks into a microphone or line in input.
Any idea on the muting of programs? I fucking hate MCE

I searched some for you about muting MCE. So far I have not found a way to do it. MCE and XP share the same audio device so its either mute everything or nothing. Vista will let you mute individual programs
